She continues to state that it not possible to demand the impossible. The demands of the social equality and economic justice are equally impossible (Judith, 1999). The ignorance of race, class, gender and sexuality has been met with a lot of resistance in the current generation (Judith, 1999). This has been associated with hate speech and censorship.

Butler continues that the increased hate speech leads to the increased political uprisings. Butler says that hate speech exists in a manner contemplative of the past events and becomes worst when recognized by states authorities (Judith, 1999). The Muslim faith and the consistence application of the sharia law have brought about racial differences. Women of Muslim faith are discriminated by the sharia law. The Muslim community should consider revising the particular phrases with reservations (Sherene, 2007).

It is controversial and beyond reason to attack your neighbors under the Jihad law. This translates that the Muslim religion encourages the war. The war brings destructions and humanitarian crisis (Sherene, 2007). Razack continues to assert that Muslims are different to westerners. The Quran has disclosed that people’s prejudice and ignorance will generate conflicts between people of different faiths. The western world never allows such confrontations. This makes the Muslims in the western world never practice the actual Muslim virtues.

Hegemonic Masculinity

Hegemony stands for the dominance of one social group over others. Connell studied the reasons underlying the dominance of men over women. The hegemonic study reflected on the race ethnic in masculinity (Connell et al., 2005). Connell criticized the biases based on race that is reflected when power is seen in the eyes of the sexual difference (Connell et al., 2005). This raises many questions on the legality of the feminine in the inability to perform the duties of leadership. Connell reflected that some men tried to organize in support for the feminism. This brought attention to the class differences in expression of masculinity and feminism (Connell et al., 2005).

Many women as a whole have managed to shun the racial differences brought on the grounds of racial differences (Connell et al., 2005). Hegemony model could be reduced to a cultural control if there were no clear understanding of the historical change. Gender and sexuality has been a theory issue over years and is a subject to discussions. There has been the concept of the male gender role (Connell et al., 2005).

The roles are overtaken by time as the roles have since changed. This has not been easy to implement as most people are engraved in the traditional thinking of the roles of men and women. There has been a tremendous oppression of women by their men counterparts. Sex theory has received criticism from many scholars. The most critical aspect observed included the blurring of the behavior and norm. The homogenizing effect brings about difficulties in the accounting power (Connell et al., 2005). The gay liberation movement analyzed the suppression of the men. This was received with the notion of stereotypes. The book continued to state that there is suppression of men by men. There was a growing masculinity classes involving homosexual condition. Homophobia has a history dating to 1970.  Homophobia is the discrimination against the homosexual people and homosexuality. Homosexuality was received with a resistance from the immediate society as it violated the role of men (Connell et al., 2005). The homosexual relationships received opposition from the immediate community. Homosexuality was a new trend and violated the actual role of men. This created the resistance of men by other men and created gender hierarchies (Connell et al., 2005).

Work places are male dominated. There has been the struggle for domineering referred to as the hegemony. Gender identity has brought a lot of the political uprisings. The communities suggest that being a gay as not ethical and calls for a change in the way men formulate their roles (Connell et al., 2005). Times have changed, and the societies should recognize the trends. Hegemonic masculinity involves the things done as identity that continuously allows men’s dominance over women (Connell et al., 2005). Hegemonic masculinity is distinguished from the other masculinities; and it is an exercise of a few men population. Men should ideally identify themselves with the roles set aside by the community. Times have changed, and the roles of men and women have come to a level platform. Time has revised the masculine roles (Connell et al., 2005).
